Perfume could have just stayed at home and chilled after wrapping up their 4th dome tour. But instead they hit up Japan's 64th Kouhaku uta gassen to perform. Surprisingly they opted to perform "Magic of love". But this performance was spruced up with some of the mind boggling projection mapping which they wowed with for their "Spending all my time" performances.

I'm still not in love with this song, but Nocchi runs that "Magic of love" routine, so I always end up watching performances of the song just for her.

The use of lightning and the way in which the screens, the imagery and projection mapping all synchronized in perfect time with the music around the 1:40 mark was ridiculous. But despite this, I feel this was one of Perfume's weakest performances of "Magic of love". The girls looked tired and those dresses were as dry as Ayu's edges on that Next level album cover. A more high energy song such as "Spring of life" or the faithful "Polyrhythm" would have been much better song choices - both of which are more unanimously loved songs than "Magic of love".

Perfume still made other girl groups look like uncoordinated messes. Particularly AKB48, who followed up Perfume's precise performance with a sloppy show of some piece of shit song.

  1. Highlights of Kouhaku
    >Hamasaki performed first and vanished up to nowhere
    >Perfume swagged with Magic of Love, girl groups after them left the stage boring cheap whores
    >AKbitches got lower ratings from Kyary&Perfume even though they tried to steal highlights
    >Hamasaki, still nowhere to found
