Perfume perform in maid outfits for Disney and showcase actual singing ability | Random J Pop

The Robohoes aka Top bitches aka The queens of JPN aka Perfume hit up Disneyland in Tokyo to perform a medley of songs from popular Disney animations. The ghost of n***a Walt may have enforced a no auto tune clause on the girls, but there was no messing with the style. Each outfit Disney gave the girls had to be tailored to Perfume's specifications, which meant Nocchi got the shorts, A-chan got the girly skirt with the flair and Kashiyuka got a fitted, shorter version of whatever A-chan was wearing. Jump below to listen to Perfume's actual singing voices and to see Perfume dance in maid outfits.

DID THESE GIRLS JUST GIVE ME TONE, PITCH, NOTE CHANGES AND 3 POINT HARMONIES!? I am all for Nakata making these girls' voices sound cold and auto-tuned if the beats are on point and it makes the song better. But I am going to need him to break the auto-tune shackles and bring in a vocal producer for a song or two on LEVEL3. If Nocchi can sound this good, why on earth was she sounding like she had strep throat on "Magic of love"?

This shit made me wish I had hit up Disney world in Japan for a hot minute.

  1. So... The haters saying that Perfume can't sing, or that they have no business making music, or that they need the autotune? Yeah, you fools can take a stadiums' worth of seats now. Beautiful Perfume can do no wrong!!

  2. But that Nocchi bit in Magic of Love is my favourite part!

Maybe they should start considering to work with other producers and not only with Nakata (who is clearly focused on Pussy Pamyu's career now).

  3. Wow, ?J, that was quick! LOL

Have to say, this made me a stapled fan of Perfume! I mean, if it wasn't for the harmonies (in a normal register), it was them prancing around in those adorable red/maid outfits. I would've died to see this live. Hopefully this means Perfume may branch out of the electropop staple they're in and expand it further! It could greatly make them more internationally accepted.

  4. OMG, it looks like a movie cover! It's spectacular! I am so looking forward to that Prince collab and that Solange feature. That's going to be miracle music, I can feel it. And the fact that we went from four suites to seven, I'm floored! I really can't wait for this album of the year contender!

  5. Awww poor Solange.

    Scraps singing for scraps.

  6. Because this isn't live. Just because their vocals weren't put through machines to sound mechanized doesn't mean they aren't being put through a machine to be autopitched and corrected like every other artist that can't really sing.

Perfume has made ya'll forget that there is more then one way to change a voice.

  7. OT but Brandy is going to have a gig at the indigO2 on the 24th of September. You going to see her?

  8. I still don't get why she's not the worldwide star she deserves to be. The ArchAndroid is a stellar album. This one is shaping up nicely too.

  9. The special edition cover is better but they're both great and I love that they're painted. I wish the standard version had the suites split too though, The only thing that annoyed me with "The Archandroid" was having ALLLLLL those songs on one disc... ~_~

  10. I love Perfume!!! They just keep bringing awesomeness!

  11. I ever so slightly prefer glitter & love the world.

But I'm so picky like that.

  12. I can't contain my love for this Woman. I've been waiting for this chick to drop another album for ages now. "The ArchAndroid" is one of the best albums I've ever listened to. Period.

I'm getting my hands on the Special Edition version. The cover is spectacular and having 2 separate discs is great.

  14. There was no part of me which was even intrigued to visit Tokyo Disneyland. All I wanted to do in Japan was get drunk and do karaoke.

I did get dragged to Universal studios Japan though. I was hesitant about going, but ended up having a great time. DAT SPIDERMAN 3D RIDE IS EVERYTHING!

  15. Oh, for the Beauty and the Beast maid one? Definitely autotuned, though they can sing still.. I mean people obviously havent seen them cover Cutie Honey live - singing and what not. They also sang live before they were auto-tune queens lol. As far as I know, they didn't get into their old performers school for being talentless hacks :X
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3DheLP03vY Kashiyuka is still a rough singer, but I could care less, lol. They sing computer driving live and other songs as well.. Jenny song is one thats always live sang.

In the Big Band Medley, they aren't auto-tuned entirely, and the pitch can be heard a ton easier. Especially just the opening, they harmonize well and all, but I can very obviously hear when people are out of tune there with each other (Sorry Kashiyuka...)

  16. Kashiyuka girl.... That cutie honey video makes me Cringe everytime I watch it because her vocals are rough. A chan is the only one who can sing pretty much
